W. Bradley Holtz
Group Publisher
Brad Holtz is president and CEO of Cyon Research
Corporation. His ongoing analysis of the engineering software market is
widely accepted as definitive. Among other innovations, Holtz coined the
term "BASCRI" (buggy; acceptable; stable; compatible; robust;
incompatible) to concisely describe the never-ending cycle of hardware and
software obsolescence.
As program director for A/E/C SYSTEMS, he designed
one of the most widely-praised, edifying, and profitable workshop programs
in the AEC industry. His international consulting clients consistently
praise his incisive problem analyses and on-the-spot insights into complex
issues.
Recently, Holtz has turned his attention to what he
terms KBM (knowledge-based marketing), using it to transform the market
positions of companies in the engineering automation field.
Holtz’s book, The CAD Rating Guide, is known as an
industry "bible"; its sixth edition will be published later this
year. He serves as chairman of The CAD Society, and is frequently quoted
worldwide as an expert.
