Steve Wolfe is currently an independent consultant in the fields of CAD/CAM, CAD, product data management, and rapid prototyping, as well as a senior editor and analyst for Cyon Research Corporation. He formerly published Computer Aided Design Report, which he started in 1981. His company, CAD/CAM Publishing, also published the PDM Report and the Rapid Prototyping Report. In 2004, all three monthly newsletters were sold to Cyon Research Corporation. Wolfe also received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the CAD Society in 2004 for his publishing work.
Prior to his publishing career, Wolfe had his own consulting engineering business, Engineers' Cooperative. Before that, he worked as an engineer for Solar Turbines (now a part of Caterpillar), Chicago Bridge and Iron (now CBI), and the Electric Boat Division of General Dynamics.
Wolfe holds a masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from MIT, and a BSME from Northwestern University. He also attended the University of Chicago graduate school of business.
